It was a gift. A project that I willingly and knowingly took on. Matsu ll, had 3 or so feet of rainwater INSIDE her. Submerging the Yanmar diesel along with a lot of other stuff. A layer of diesel fuel coated much of the inside where the water was. Where the water did not reach, there was thick mold. The boat needed a ton of cleaning. Cleaning I can do, it’s inexpensive and does not require too much technical knowledge. I also knew that a lot of hard work was involved. After receiving this boat, I sold my little C&C 25 that I had owned for 27 years. The boat I sold was in perfect working condition and clean… On the other hand, while I LOVED my little C&C, I also really wanted a boat with an inboard diesel and a roomier living space. Anyone who’s ever been on a Catalina 30 knows what I’m talking about, it is unbelievably roomy below. I am totally on a budget. I will do most of the work myself, because I enjoy it and because I cannot afford to get someone else to do it. I scour Craigslist, BoatNation.com and Ebay constantly for bargains as well as consignment stores and yard sales. Please feel free to leave a comment or question, I will do my best to get back to you quickly.
Check out this site for used equipment and for finding marine services in your area, pretty cool!
What an exciting adventure Doreen! ! Can’t wait to watch this boat get back on the water.

Be sure to check for rot in the compression post and floor of the bilge. Looks rough, but so do diamonds before they’re polished. Hope it’s all cosmetic. Let us know how she turns out.
